Dale Rogers - former SSG US Army

I am a former US Marine and US Army Airborne Ranger. I was 20 yrs. old when I graduated Parris Island on 6 Sept 1988, and I was with 2nd Bn D-Co. Plt #2065. My Drill Instructors were; SGT Seals, SGT Skiles, and Senior Drill Instructor, SSG Scott, those three men are responsible for making me the man I am today and I am eternally grateful.

PVT Rogers, stay hard!

A quote by my favorite Drill Instructor, SGT Skiles. He was one hard core gungy Marine! And a mentor of mine. Someday I hope to get back in touch with him and thank him.

Operation Desert Storm

I was a M-60 Machine Gunner in Desert Storm and that was a lightening war, if you can call it that. I was with 2nd Marine Division and attached to Hell on Wheels, an Army unit. I remember most;

  • Scorpion fights
  • Molly Burwell
  • Nero 007

After Operation Desert Storm I was bored with being on active duty, after you go to war, garrison is just boring duty. So I left the Marines.

Ranger Commercials Work!

I joined the US Army at 32 yrs. old after seeing an Army Ranger commercial, with a 'Ranger Contract' - No Bonus!  I just wanted to be a Ranger. So I busted my ass, and earned a slot with B-Co 2-75 75th RGR RGT. And the nickname of RangerJarhead.

I was later injured in Ramadi, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom 2004, and was medically discharged.

Now I am a Globetrotter. Sun, Surf, Suds! Cheers!

Freedom is not free. Never forget our fallen brothers.
